Nespresso Original-Compatible Capsules: Original vs Vertuo Guide
The short answer
Umami capsules are compatible with domestic Nespresso® Original machines. They are not compatible with Vertuo. A Nespresso name on the machine is not enough: identify its system before choosing capsules.
How to check your machine
- Find its model name on the machine, box or manual.
- Check the manufacturer documentation to confirm whether it belongs to Original or Vertuo.
- Before buying, make sure the capsule packaging specifies that same system.
Original and Vertuo use different formats; their capsules are not interchangeable. Never force a capsule that does not fit or try to adapt it. The official Nespresso comparison explains the systems.
| Your system | Can you use Umami capsules? |
|---|---|
| Domestic Nespresso Original | Yes |
| Nespresso Vertuo | No |
| Another system or unidentified model | Check the manual first; compatibility is not assumed |
Choosing your coffee after confirming compatibility
For a bold blend, explore Classic. For a balanced, fruity profile, try Colombian. To explore a different aroma, see Cardamom. All these varieties use the same Original format; flavor does not change compatibility.
Frequently asked questions
Does Umami work with Vertuo?
No. Do not buy these capsules for a Vertuo machine.
Are these original Nespresso capsules?
No. They are Umami-brand capsules compatible with the Original system. Compatible does not mean manufactured by Nespresso.
Does PACK 10 use a different format?
No. It contains ten boxes of ten capsules of the same variety: 100 capsules with the same compatibility.
What if I cannot identify my machine system?
Check the manual before ordering. You can contact info@umamicoffee.es with the model to ask; we do not assume compatibility for an unidentified machine.
